Diamond Earns Sh129 Million for Mombasa Wedding Performance

Tanzanian musician Diamond Platnumz revealed that he earned approximately Sh129 million ($1 million) for performing at a high-profile wedding in Mombasa, Kenya.

The singer and his team arrived in Kenya aboard a private jet to grace the event, sharing the news of his record-breaking payment on his social media platforms.

“$1M for a wedding show in Mombasa. Kweli vuma uyaone. Alhamdulillah,” Diamond wrote, marking a historic moment as he became the first East African artist to earn over Sh100 million for a wedding performance.

The event, a lavish celebration of Imran Khosla’s son Zakir’s wedding, attracted prominent guests, including President William Ruto, Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale, and Mombasa Governor Abdulswamad Nassir.

Governor Nassir shared a heartfelt congratulatory message to the Khosla family, highlighting the significance of the occasion.

“It is with immense joy and heartfelt gratitude that I extend my warmest congratulations to my dear friend, Mr. Imran Khosla, on the blessed occasion of the Nikkah of your beloved son, Zakir.

“The sanctity of this union is a testament to the strong values of faith and family you have instilled in Zakir, and it was a privilege to witness such a momentous milestone celebrated with grace and dignity,” the message read.
