Kenyan comedian Dem Wa Facebook has addressed circulating rumors claiming she was involved in a road accident.

In a social media post, she reassured her followers that the claims were false.

“Hi guys,” she began in an Instagram Story filmed from her apartment balcony, using a screenshot of her red car to add, “I’m always happy, but today I’m very disappointed. My people, kindly – sijapata ajali. I have not been in any accident, ever. People are calling me, asking what hospital I’m at, or what injuries I have.”

The false rumors had also caused worry among her family members, with her mother calling in distress. “My mom even called to check on me – she was so stressed, she fainted back home,” she shared.

She urged people to verify information before sharing it, explaining, “That was just a small scratch at the parking lot. I can even show you. People are resharing and calling to offer sympathy, but it was not an accident. It’s not my first accident or anything. Yawa, si ajali!”
