Death of 45 year old rhino in Laikipia causes the world to stop for a minute
World’s famous rhinoceros ‘Sudan’ is dead. Sudan was the world’s last male northern white rhinoceros subspecies and its death to a greater extent means the subspecies has been wiped off the face of earth.
Sudan’s death was announced on twitter by Ol Pajeta Conservancy in Laikipia county. They said Sudan died from age-related complications.

It’s not doom yet!
The 45 year old rhino was being kept at the Laikipia conservancy as scientists unsuccessfully tried to breed it with two surviving females.
Scientists are however optimistic Sudan’s death won’t be the end of the species. They are trying to fertilize the two surviving females with Sudan’s sperms that is stored in Berlin, Germany.
“Sudan” is currently trending on twitter globally. Nature lovers are crossing their figures hoping that Sudan’s will fertilize the two surviving female southern white rhinos and save the species from eminent extinction.
