“I was supposed to come here as a father, but unfortunately, my son passed away four days ago. It has been one of the toughest moments of my life, juggling that pain while also putting together the show,” he said.

Kennar also took the opportunity to encourage compassion and empathy among people. “Whenever you see someone smiling, take a moment to ask them if they are okay. Let’s be our brother’s and sister’s keepers. Love one another,” he urged.

Natalie Asewe, on her Instagram, penned a heartfelt tribute to their late son, who passed away on December 11. Sharing a photo from her pregnancy, she reflected on the pain of losing a child and the dreams they never got to fulfill.

“They say there’s no greater pain than childbirth, but I disagree. The greatest pain is carrying and delivering a child you never get to raise. I grieve not just my son but the moments we’ll never share—his first cry, his first steps, his voice, and watching him grow,” she wrote.

Despite the personal tragedy, Kennar is pressing forward with his career and is set to host the Happy Country 2024 edition at Kasarani Arena on December 14.

“We’re targeting an audience of 4,000, with ticket sales depending on seating preferences. The show runs for two hours with 5-minute breaks,” Kennar explained.

As one of Africa’s most prominent comedians and content creators, Kennar continues to balance his career and personal life. He currently splits his time between Kenya and South Africa, where he is pursuing a three-year program.
