Counties Facing Power Outages Today, Thursday

Kenya Power has informed residents in various parts of three counties to prepare for power outages on Thursday, July 4, 2024, due to network maintenance.

In a notice issued Wednesday evening, the utility company stated that scheduled power interruptions will affect customers in parts of Nairobi, Makueni, Kiambu, Nyeri, and Kirinyaga.

“Please be advised, the following areas will undergo planned maintenance tomorrow (02.07.2024),” the notice read.

The company mentioned that power interruptions will occur between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm in the listed areas.

The affected counties are Nairobi, Makueni, Kiambu, Nyeri, and Kirinyaga.

Nairobi

Interruptions in select areas will take place between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm.

Affected areas include:

• Part of UN Headquarters
• Whispers Avenue
• Gigiri Water
• Part of United Nations Crescent and adjacent customers

Makueni

Power interruptions in Makueni will affect:

• Emali town
• Mulala
• Kithumani
• Manooni

• Matiliku
• Mbenuu
• Kiboko town
• Kiboko Kari
• Utini
• Masimba

In Kirinyaga, part of Kutus town, Kagio, Kimicha, Babara Secondary, Spenza, Nyaga Primary, Njegas Booster, KPCU Kiaga, Kiaga market, Ndaba, and Rwangondu Abai Hotel will be affected.

The scheduled power outage from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm will also impact customers in:
