Congolese Bishop CB Motondo: “Insulting Ruto is Equivalent to Insulting God”
Renowned Congolese preacher and philanthropist Prophet Charles Motondo has called on Kenyans to stop mocking President William Ruto, warning that such actions could invite divine consequences.
During his recent visit to Kenya, the charismatic preacher expressed concern over the use of derogatory nicknames like “Kasongo,” which he believes dishonor both the president and the divine authority that appointed him.

“Mocking the president with funny names undermines God’s anointment,” Motondo stated.
“The Bible cautions against cursing leaders chosen by God. Criticizing him is akin to criticizing God.”
The prophet urged Kenyans to reflect on their actions, emphasizing that corruption exists not only in government but also in churches and society as a whole.
He called for respect toward leaders while encouraging accountability across all sectors. At the same time, he urged President Ruto to address the public’s frustrations with compassion and decisive leadership.
“There’s no president who will be universally loved. Presidents come and go. We’ve had many before, and now we have President Ruto. But weren’t you the same people who criticized the previous president? No leader will go through their term without facing opposition,” he said.
Motondo reminded Kenyans that every president faces criticism, recalling how past leaders also dealt with opposition.
“I pray that God grants the president wisdom to understand that when people cry out, it’s not out of hatred but frustration. He must do his best to address their challenges because God has entrusted him with this leadership,” he added.
His remarks come amid the recent release of three individuals who were reported missing.
Billy Mwangi, Peter Muteti, Bernard Kavuli, and Rony Kiplangat, who had also been reported missing, were reunited with their families on Monday morning.
