Cedo reveals the details of his situation with Nyashinski.

Music producer Cedrick ‘Cedo’ Kadenyi has addressed rumors about a falling out with his longtime friend, rapper and singer Nyashinski.

In June, a close source alleged that their once-strong relationship deteriorated over a lucrative deal. According to the source, Nyashinski had sought Cedo’s help to produce jingles for a client, offering him Sh1 million for his services on a deal reportedly worth Sh10 million. Although Cedo initially agreed due to their friendship, he later reconsidered when he learned the deal’s value and requested a higher payment.

This situation sparked speculation within the entertainment industry, especially after Nyashinski removed 20 of his hits from Spotify and Apple Music that same month. Notably, most of the removed tracks were produced by Cedo. This decision meant that neither artist could earn royalties from those songs, leading critics to suggest that Nyashinski’s actions were aimed at his longtime collaborator.

When asked about the alleged rift with Nyashinski, Cedo was reticent but hinted that their relationship had changed. “If we weren’t aligned, we wouldn’t have made beautiful music. We’re still great artists. I don’t think there’s anything more to it,” he stated.

When pressed further, Cedo remained vague but indicated that they are no longer collaborating as before. He noted, “Let’s not overthink it. This gift (making music) is not limited. I will probably work with Chris Kaiga for a period of time… Sometimes that growth might manifest itself in a way that doesn’t align with everybody, and that’s okay. If there is anything more between me and Nyashinski, it’s not for me to say.”

Cedo mentioned that the two artists do not spend time together as they once did. Recently, Nyashinski released a six-track EP titled ‘To Whom It May Concern,’ which social media users speculated was a diss aimed at Cedo and Nigerian producer Sam Are, who had previously sued Nyashinski for copyright infringement concerning his hit song ‘Wach Wach.’
