Burna Boy’s Nairobi Concert and Other Major Events to Watch for in 2025
Kenya’s entertainment scene continues to thrive, with 2025 shaping up to be a year packed with exciting events and memorable moments. Here’s a closer look at some of the standout happenings to look forward to:
Burna Boy Live in Nairobi
Originally scheduled for December 30, 2024, at the Nairobi Polo Club, Burna Boy’s highly anticipated concert has been rescheduled to March 1, 2025, at Uhuru Gardens.
The Grammy-winning Nigerian star confirmed the new date on Instagram, sharing a post with the caption “March 1, 2025,” accompanied by the Kenyan flag.
Ticket prices for the initial announcement included early bird regular tickets at Ksh 4,000, advance regular tickets at Ksh 8,000, VIP at Ksh 25,000, and VVIP at Ksh 65,000.
Dave Chappelle’s Surprise Return
Dave Chappelle shocked fans in Nairobi when he announced a spontaneous show during a stopover in Dubai en route to Kigali, Rwanda. Despite being announced just 48 hours before the event, tickets for the show at the 303-seat Louis Leaky Auditorium sold out in two hours, even at a steep price of Ksh 7,000.
While Chappelle didn’t return as promised in November 2024, reports suggest the celebrated comedian will make his comeback in 2025, with dates yet to be confirmed.
Walker Town Festival
Walker Town continues to grow as a premier event in Kenya’s entertainment calendar. Past headline acts include Lauryn Hill in 2024 and Fally Ipupa the year before. For 2025, rumors suggest Toni Braxton will headline, though organizers are keeping final confirmations under wraps.
“We are committed to making the next festival even bigger and better,” a representative from YDX, the event’s organizer, shared.
Octobafest’s Grand Return
After its 2024 hiatus, the October Festival is set to make a grand comeback in 2025. While the previous year featured smaller club shows nationwide, this year’s edition will return to its traditional format with a mega concert in Nairobi and mini festivals across Kenya.
Tusker Marketing Manager Christine Kariuki emphasized, “Octobafest is an annual celebration of culture. While the format may vary, our commitment to delivering an exceptional experience remains unchanged.”
From star-studded concerts to cultural festivals, 2025 promises a vibrant lineup for Kenya’s entertainment enthusiasts!
