Bishop Allan Kiuna Passes On

Bishop Allan Kiuna of JCC ministries has reportedly passed on from cancer. The bishop earlier this year was alleged to have beaten the deadly disease after a lengthy treatment that cost hundreds of millions of shillings. Unfortunately with cancer things are often not that straightforward.

Remission vs relapse

Cancer can be treated and it can go into remission after the treatment. Remission means that the signs and symptoms of your cancer are reduced. Remission can be partial or complete. In a complete remission, all signs and symptoms of cancer have disappeared.

If you remain in complete remission for 5 years or more, some doctors may say that you are cured. However, some cancer cells can remain in your body for many years after treatment. These cells may cause the cancer to come back one day, which is called a relapse.

This is how some people like Bishop Kiuna celebrate having beaten cancer, but still end up succumbing later on. May his soul rest in peace
