“Avril alinipokea vizuri” Diamond showers Avril Nyambura with praise

Diamond Platnumz attributes the penetration of his music into the Kenyan market to Avril Nyambura. The Tanzanian star says Avril played a pivotal role in his career.

Avril helped Diamond get into the Kenyan market after she agreed to feature as a video vixen in his hit song ‘Kesho’. The song went on to a big hit in East Africa.

“Shout out to avril kwa sababu alinipokea vizuri akaniruhusu nishoot na yeye video. Nashukuru sana, namheshimu sana na ninampenda sana. Alichangia video yangu ya Kesho ipendwe zaidi Kenya,” said Diamond Platnumz.

Diamond reveals that after dropping ‘Kesho’ he went on to spend all the money he had to shoot a new video that launched him into the African market.

He shot ‘Number One’ which was such a big hit that Davido approached him to do the remix together. ‘Number One’ remix is one of the most watched music videos on YouTube done by African artist, it has 31 million views.

“Baada ya hapo nikapanga nishoot video ingine. Nikaenda kushoot South Africa. Nikashoot video ya number one,naamini ni nyimbo amabayo iliyoni-introduce kwenye market ya Africa. That was the song I used all my money. My last video before that i had used $300,000 or Kes 3 million. After that I shoot a video worth $30,000,” said Diamond.
