‘Artists Have Lost Hope’- Eric Omondi Pens Proposal To MCSK Boss Ezekiel Mutua (Screenshot)

The sporadic woes between Eric Omondi and Music Copyright Society of Kenya (MCSK) boss Ezekiel Mutua are yet to be settled after he was recently appointed for the job. The genesis of their beef was ignited by Eric Omondi lashing out at Ezekiel when he was KFCB(Kenya Film Classification Board) boss last year. He did this as a means of trying to improve the entertainment industry but his efforts ended in a cul de sac. He has however, not given up just yet.

On the other hand, Ezekiel Mutua recently promised to support Kenyan musicians and immensely monetize their work.

Eric Omondi’s Message To Ezekiel Mutua

Eric Omondi has once again admonished Ezekiel Mutua on how to improve the music industry. Taking to his Instagram, the jester wrote;

”…HERE IS MY PROPOSAL TO YOU. Let us Establish a MUSIC AWARDS SHOW that will not only recognize but also Award Perfoming Artists. INJECT MONEY BACK INTO THE INDUSTRY.This will help bring back life into the Industry which is currently seriously lacking.”

He connoted that everyone lost hope in MCSK;

”Daktari, Life rarely gives us a second chance but when it does then we are called upon to give it our very best. This is your chance to ABSOLVE yourself and here is how you can do it. Artists lost Faith in MCSK and this is a great paradox because if MCSK is here for the Artists and the Artists have no faith in it then it lacks PURPOSE.”

Musicians’ Reactions

While most have seen Eric Omondi’s sentiments as shrewd, some artists like Willis Raburu and Willy Paul believe it’s not enough to establish music awards. Willy maintained that such events end up being corrupt while Willis purported that awards will not sustain artists enough.
