AP Officer Guarding Kalonzo Musyoka’s Home Dies by Suicide
An AP officer assigned to guard the Tseikuru rural home of Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has died by suicide. The officer, whose identity has not been released yet, was found unconscious at his residence on Sunday morning. He was rushed to the nearby Mumoni Nursing Hospital in Tseikuru trading center, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Kitui county police commander Leah Kithei confirmed the incident and stated that an investigation into the death is underway. “Let’s wait until the conclusion of the probe, including the autopsy, for the truth to come out. Sooner than later, we will know what happened,” she said.
Sources in Tseikuru claim that the officer had harbored suicidal thoughts for a while and had previously attempted to take his life by consuming poison.
Man Rescued After Poisoning Attempt
In a separate incident, a man from Kalimbui village is recuperating at Tseikuru Subcounty Hospital after he was rescued by relatives and taken to the hospital following a poison attempt. The man’s condition is stable, and he is expected to make a full recovery.
