Another day another body: DCI officers express anger at murder cases

Kenya is going to the dogs! No really, there is something wrong happening that we aren’t addressing. It now seems like every new dawn comes with the discovery of  yet another body, this time being that of a woman identified to have been Passy Nyambura Mwangi.

Her remains were discovered near the Unilever factory, Mabrouk, in Adam and undressed save for her bra and biker shorts. While the rest of her clothes were found in a different Dam an estimated 4 km away.

And as if this tragedy couldn’t get worse, she was described as having been between three and four months pregnant at the time of her murder.

The police have arrested two suspects as they look for leads in solving the murder. The first is her current partner and the father of her yet-unborn baby. And the second being ex-husband who is the father of the child she already had.

According to family sources, the ex-husband harassed her in a bid to force a reconciliation between the two as he was upset that his child, “was being raised by another man”.

This comes a day after the body of 22-year-old Maryanne Wangare, a student at Bomet University was discovered in Adam. When her remains were discovered she was clad in nothing but her undergarments and there were signs of strangulation on her body.

A post-mortem that has already been carried out reported findings of sexual assault. She was last seen in the company of three individuals who are being sought after by police to record a statement and facilitate their investigations into her death.
