Anini’s initial viral moment came from a video where she told Raila Odinga that the youth had taken over the fight for freedom and that he should stay home while they protested. Raila responded at the time, expressing pride in the youth’s actions.
On Tuesday, July 9, at the KICC, Raila appeared with President Ruto after signing the IEBC Bill 2024 into law. The two announced that a multi-sectoral dialogue would be initiated. However, the youth have rejected this proposal, with Anini adding her voice:
“Agwambo, what are we discussing with them? Like on a serious note. What are we discussing with them? You’ve been discussing, and you know how they end! Kenyans are not ready for that again.

We are moving forward. We have said there is no leader. No more dialogue because we have been doing this. They know what we want. Please, we had issues from our ancestors, let’s not discuss; instead, let’s see implementation.”

Several others, including Martha Karua and Eugene Wamalwa, have also rejected the call for dialogue. The multi-sectoral national dialogue conference is scheduled for July 15-20, 2024.
The six-day conference, spearheaded by President William Ruto and Azimio leader Raila Odinga, aims to address Kenya’s ongoing crisis.
