Amber Ray responds to being linked to Maverick Aoko’s arrest

Businesswoman Faith Makau, widely known as Amber Ray, has been making headlines online following the arrest of controversial social media influencer Maverick Aoko.

Amber Ray addressed the situation during an Instagram Stories Q&A session with her fans. She started by expressing her confusion over why she was trending, noting that she was unaware of any recent actions that would warrant such attention.

Fans offered various explanations, including admiration for her lifestyle and parenting approach. Some speculated that her decision to give her one-year-old daughter KSh1,000 as pocket money for school might have sparked online interest.

However, one fan suggested that the real reason she was trending was due to allegations linking her to Maverick Aoko’s arrest. Reports indicate that Aoko was detained following multiple complaints about her online posts, which allegedly contained false, defamatory, and threatening content aimed at Amber Ray and Jimal Rohosafi.

Aoko’s lawyer explained that the arrest resulted from an application by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), claiming Aoko’s online activities were causing public unrest. However, the lawyer argued that the issue on the charge sheet was minor and could have been resolved privately, raising concerns about the manner of the arrest.
