Amber Ray Responds to Backlash Over Remarks on Hamisa and Size 8’s Weddings
A fan asked, “Why did DJ Mo and Size 8’s wedding seem off?”
Responding via her Instagram stories, Amber Ray clarified,
“Let me clear this up—when I spoke about luxurious weddings, I wasn’t referring to Size 8’s wedding, nor was I comparing it to Hamisa Mobetto’s. I have no issue with her or her family.”

She also addressed criticism for calling herself Bibi Ya Tajiri (a rich man’s wife), stating that she has the right to call her husband whatever she wants, just as others are free to choose pet names for their partners.
On February 16, Hamisa Mobetto married 28-year-old professional footballer Stephane Azziz in a lavish wedding attended by top figures in Tanzania’s entertainment industry.
Amber Ray, yet to hold her own wedding, shared a video expressing admiration for Hamisa and how she had raised the bar for brides-to-be.
Nicknamed Bibi Ya Tajiri, Amber praised Hamisa’s wedding, admitting it had inspired and challenged her.
“Hey, my good people! I stayed up all night just watching Hamisa’s wedding videos!” she said excitedly.

She emphasized that Hamisa had redefined what it means to have an elegant, extravagant, and high-end wedding.
“The standard has been set—way up here! Hamisa has shown us the way. For those who prefer low-budget events, I hope you took notes.”
Amber also noted how multiple outfit changes were rare in Kenyan weddings and praised the event’s décor, setup, and overall execution.
“I’m so happy to see a fellow woman winning! It’s not always us setting the trends. Now, I feel motivated and challenged.
I had planned to have my wedding this year, but honestly… I need to go back to the drawing board because the bar has been raised.”
