Akothee Cautions Women About Chemical Peels After Experiencing Skin Damage

Kenyan singer and entrepreneur Akothee has issued a warning about the risks of chemical peels after a personal experience left her with skin damage. She opened up about her struggles with hormonal imbalances, which led to frequent facial breakouts. Seeking a solution, she opted for a chemical peel based on a recommendation, but the treatment caused more harm than good.

Akothee shared how the peel left her skin severely burned and dry, leaving her uncomfortable and frustrated. “Someone suggested a chemical peel, and I decided to give it a try. Instead of improving my skin, it left it damaged and dehydrated. I couldn’t even face the mirror without feeling disheartened,” she recalled.

Her partner, Nelly, was the first to express concern, noticing the burn marks and dryness on her face. Initially, Akothee reassured him that the effects would fade within days, but it soon became clear the damage was more extensive. When her makeup artist, Ann, also pointed out the issue, Akothee realized the severity of the situation.

Attempts to contact the clinic responsible for the procedure were unsuccessful, leaving Akothee feeling abandoned. Nelly, upset by the outcome, threw out the products they had recommended and went back to her trusted skincare routine. Thankfully, within a month, her skin began to recover.

Reflecting on the experience, Akothee advised her followers to be cautious about new beauty trends. “Ladies, be careful with your body. Not all these trends are beneficial, and some can do more harm than good,” she cautioned.

Akothee’s story is a reminder to thoroughly research any beauty treatments and prioritize health over cosmetic trends. Although she eventually healed, the experience served as a valuable lesson.
