Kenyan singer and entrepreneur Akothee has issued a warning about the risks of chemical peels after a personal experience left her with skin damage. She opened up about her struggles with hormonal imbalances, which led to frequent facial breakouts. Seeking a solution, she opted for a chemical peel based on a recommendation, but the treatment caused more harm than good.

Akothee shared how the peel left her skin severely burned and dry, leaving her uncomfortable and frustrated. “Someone suggested a chemical peel, and I decided to give it a try. Instead of improving my skin, it left it damaged and dehydrated. I couldn’t even face the mirror without feeling disheartened,” she recalled.
Her partner, Nelly, was the first to express concern, noticing the burn marks and dryness on her face.
