Celebrated media personality and entrepreneur Betty Kyalo is rumored to be heading back to TV after three years away from the silver screen.

The screen siren, whose face was beamed into millions of Kenyan living rooms for over ten years, was this afternoon captured in what our sources confidently tell us are news studios as she was about to go on air.

In the secretly-shot photos and videos at our disposal, Betty is seen clad in a hugging mustard dress as a makeup artist dolls up her face and did what appeared to be final touches before she went on air.

A voice, whose identity we couldn’t immediately establish, is heard saying,

“Yo guys finish up, were almost going LIVE…”

Betty then asks,

“Is the prompter ready, kwani?”

The video, which also shows a greenscreen, a studio monitor and a studio fitted with tons of LED lighting equipment, then quickly cuts.

In yet another video we managed to lay our hands on, a studio technician is captured appearing to mic up the former news reader as she takes instructions from other crew members.

Our attempts to identify the actual TV station that Betty had moved to bore no fruit as several major TV stations we called gave the same answer,

“No, she’s not working with us.”

Betty Kyalo’s last TV stint was at the Mediamax-owned K24 TV station where she presented the ‘Weekend with Betty’ news program for two years.

Ensconced within the 9pm bulletin was her widely popular and eponymously-named ‘Uplcose with Betty’ which saw the affable journalist visit top celebrities and public figures’ homes in a bid to unravel the other (mostly fun) side of their lives.

Betty left K24 in 2020 and channeled her energies to a myriad of personal businesses most notably being the swanky ‘Flair By Betty’ beauty spa.

During her time away from the small screen, the bouncy Kyalo also launched ‘After Shave’, an urbane barbershop for Nairobi’s debonair men and Summer House, a garden-style events and party spot.

Prior to working at K24, Betty Kyalo had spent 8 years at the Standard Group-owned KTN TV, where she rose from an intern to a top-rated news anchor within a few years. It is at KTN where she also honed her news anchoring skills and made a media name for herself.
