Shocking new twist in the death of child said to have died in a car when his mother went for a booty call at a lodging
The death of 8 year old Enos Barasa has all over sudden become a mystery following a postmortem conducted on the boy’s body.
While everybody thought the kid died of vehicular heatstroke because his mother locked him in the car so that she could entertain her lover at Mareba lodging, autopsy report tells a different story.
The postmortem examination says that Enos Barasa was murdered; the kid died from injuries sustained after being hit with a blunt object.
“He had severe head, stomach and chest injuries, probably from a blunt object. Blood had accumulated in his chest, head and the stomach, an indication that he was murdered,” Daily Nation quoted a medic who witnessed the postmortem.
It however remains a mystery who hit the young boy and left him for the dead in the car; the first suspects are obviously the boy’s mother Christine Simiyu and her lover Jude Ng’ang’a.
Nation reports that Boniface Wafula, the manager at Mareba Complex Bar, witnessed the two lovers arriving in a blue car then booked a room at about 9am last Sunday.
Wafula claimed that he was unaware that the child was locked up in the vehicle but he noticed that the women kept moving out of the room, picking up cans of soda from the bar and taking them to the vehicle.
It was only when she was taking the third soda to the car that Wafula saw her crying at car. It turned out that a kid had died in the car and soon the scene attracted curious onlookers who were eager to find out what was happening.
Apparently Christine is a window and a mother of five, Enos Barasa was her last born. The widow and her lover are still being held at Bungoma Police Station pending police to conclude the case and hand the file over to state prosecutors.
