Kenyan celebrities mourn the death of ‘Sudan’ – the world’s most famous rhino
World’s famous rhinoceros ‘Sudan’ has dead at the age of 45. Nature lovers from across the world are mourning the death of Sudan which was the last surviving male northern white rhinoceros subspecies.
A statement from the Ol Pejeta Conservancy in Laikipia county says the 45-year-old rhino was put to death humanely after its condition worsened significantly, Sudan was no longer able to stand.
It is with great sadness that Ol Pejeta Conservancy and the Dvůr Králové Zoo announce that Sudan, the world’s last male northern white rhino, age 45, died at Ol Pejeta Conservancy in Kenya on March 19th, 2018 (yesterday). #SudanForever #TheLoneBachelorGone #Only2Left pic.twitter.com/1ncvmjZTy1
