Jose Chameleone sued for 53 million shillings for going MIA on a female South African promoter
South African promoter Zaina Muwonge has filed a case in High Court seeking millions of shillings in compensation from Jose Chameleone.
Ms Muwonge says she entered into a gentleman’s agreement with Chameleone in 2015 to perform in South Africa. The Ugandan star was slated to perform in Durban, East London, Pretoria and Cape Town in December.
The South African promoter is seeking Ush53 million/Kes 1.5 million in compensation from Chameleone. She says spend so much in preparation for Chameleone’s show only for the singer to fail to show up.
Chameleone went missing
Ms Muwonge claims she had booked hotels for Chameleone and his entire crew but to her utter shock the singer switched off his phone on the eve of his flight.
She further says that in 2016 Chameleone called her apologizing and promised to make up for the frustration he had caused her in 2015.
Chameleone however for the second time played the same trick and switched off his phone on the eve of his flight. The plaintiff seeking to recover her money and orders compelling Chameleone to pay her damages for breach of contract.
