KRG The Don Eyes Parliament in 2027, Returns from Social Media Break with Bold Ambitions
After a noticeable hiatus from social media, musician KRG The Don is back—and he’s coming in hot with political aspirations. The Mambo Yamechemka hitmaker has announced plans to run for a parliamentary seat in the 2027 General Election.
Speaking in an interview with Trudy Kitui, KRG shared that his goal is to transition from the entertainment scene to public service.
“I want to run for MP, but I haven’t started active politics yet,” he explained. “Politics requires stamina. You must be grounded and truly understand the struggles of the people. You need real solutions before stepping in. I’ve taken time to learn, and now, I feel ready.”
Known for his flamboyant lifestyle and confident persona, KRG described himself as a “very ambitious person” who has already ticked the box on his entertainment goals.
Mental Health Rumors and His Break from Social Media
Addressing rumors that his disappearance from social platforms was linked to depression, KRG was quick to set the record straight.
“I’m OK—just busy with other things. I’ve been focusing on business and fatherhood. Fans have been asking why I went silent, but honestly, I’ve just been enjoying peace off social media. Things will change soon, and more music is on the way.”
On Missing Out on a Government Appointment
Speculation has circulated that KRG was overlooked for a state appointment, especially due to his well-known rapport with President William Ruto. He responded with characteristic candor:
“People expected me to be appointed, but the president is the boss—he picks who’s best for the job. Maybe my name hasn’t come up yet, but if I’m ever given the chance to serve, I won’t hesitate. I know I’d do a great job.”
Plans for Public Service and Future Focus
In a 2024 interview with Betty Kyallo, KRG revealed that should he join public office, he intends to step away from private business altogether.
“I want my kids to handle the private business. I’ll focus on being a public officer.”
When asked which constituency he plans to run in, KRG remained vague.
“I want to start as an MP, but I won’t disclose where just yet. I don’t want to cause panic. The moment people hear ‘Bughaa anataka MP’, they’ll start calling me with every issue—and I’m not trying to be part of every funeral committee just yet!”
With his return, KRG The Don is clearly shifting gears, signaling a new chapter that blends ambition, leadership, and a deep interest in serving the public.
