Vera Sidika Opens Up on BBL Rumors, Body Image Struggles, and Motherhood
Vera Sidika, a mother of two, first gained fame as a video vixen in P-Unit’s hit song You Guy. Speaking in an interview with Afolasade Samagbeyi, she reflected on her journey to stardom.
“One day, my agency was approached by P-Unit to feature me in their music video. That’s where Vera Sidika was born,” she revealed.
Overcoming Body Insecurities
Before stepping into the limelight, Sidika struggled with insecurities about her curvy figure.
“Growing up in Mombasa, I had a lot of insecurities. Back then, being skinny was the trend, and I was often bullied for being ‘fat.’ When I moved to Nairobi, people started noticing me, and that changed everything,” she said.
Her breakthrough video was eventually banned for being “too explicit,” but by then, she had already become a public figure.
Now, she fully embraces her curves.
“I always loved attention and wanted to be a news anchor. Today, I’m confident in my body. I represent thick girls, and I don’t have to hide my curves,” she added.
Addressing BBL Speculations
Sidika denied undergoing a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL), clarifying that her figure is natural.
“The only reason people think I had a BBL is because I once pranked them into believing I had lost my booty. I just wanted to see their reaction and promote my music video at the time,” she explained.
Motherhood and Finding Balance
For Sidika, motherhood is one of the most fulfilling aspects of her life.
“I love coming home to my kids running to hug me. I always wanted to be a mother, but I waited until I was emotionally and financially ready,” she said.
Addressing critics who question her frequent travels, she reassured that her children are well cared for.
“When I travel, my kids stay with my mom and the nanny. That doesn’t make me a bad mother,” she asserted.
Despite many assuming her career would slow down after having children, Sidika believes in balancing everything.
“People thought I was done after becoming a mom, but it’s all about knowing how to manage your time. I make time to travel, spend time with my babies, and focus on business,” she said.
More Than Just a Pretty Face
Sidika also dismissed assumptions that she is all looks and no substance.
“People don’t realize there’s more to me than my appearance. I don’t need to prove myself to anyone. Many assume I’m just a girl with a big booty and no brains, but that’s far from the truth,” she concluded.
