Zari Reveals Why She Favors Zuchu and Vera Over Tanasha for Young, Famous &African

Ugandan socialite, entrepreneur, and reality TV star Zarinah Hassan, popularly known as Zari the Boss Lady, has shared her thoughts on the ideal Kenyan influencer to join Netflix’s hit reality series, Young, Famous & African.

Zari expressed her preference for Kenyan socialite Vera Sidika, citing her beauty, curvy physique, and vibrant personality, which she believes aligns with the show’s existing cast. She added that Vera’s dynamic vibe would fit seamlessly into the group.

From Tanzania, Zari suggested bongo star Zuchu as a suitable addition. She noted that Zuchu’s rumored relationship with Diamond Platnumz, who is already a cast member, could bring an exciting dynamic to the show.

However, Zari was hesitant about recommending singer Tanasha Donna, despite their friendship. She explained that Tanasha’s reserved and quiet demeanor might not suit the drama-driven nature of the show.

“Vera would look good on the show. She’s beautiful, brings the ‘nyash,’ and looks like she can throw some jabs—she’s just like us,” Zari said. “As for Zuchu, I’d love to see her on the show, sitting there and saying, ‘What do you have to say, Diamond? Am I not your artiste?’ That would stir things up.”

On the other hand, Zari remarked, “Tanasha is very pretty, and I talk to her often, but she’s very reserved. The show needs someone who can bring the energy and drama, and she’s more laid-back.”

Zari further explained that Young, Famous & African is not scripted, and the series often reveals the true personalities of its cast members, not just the personas they present on social media.

“Reality TV isn’t just about social media. Once the cameras start rolling, it’s about who you truly are, and I’ve seen people change completely when the reality sets in,” she added.

First aired on March 18, 2022, Young, Famous & African showcases the lives of Africa’s elite celebrities known for their wealth and influence. Zari, a standout cast member, emphasized that Netflix decides who joins the show, and the current cast has no input in casting decisions.

The show’s third season features Zari Hassan, Shakib Cham, Diamond Platnumz, Fantana, Annie Macaulay-Idibia, Swanky Jerry, Nadia Nakai, Quinton Masina, Kayleigh Schwark, Luis Munana, Khanyi Mbau, and Ini Edo.
