Woman Killed in Street Attack, Murder Suspect Sought

A woman was tragically killed following a serious assault in West Hoe Road last night, sparking a major police manhunt for the suspected attacker.

Emergency services were called to the scene around 8:55 PM on Wednesday evening, where they found the woman seriously injured. Despite the efforts of paramedics who rushed her to Derriford Hospital, she sadly succumbed to her injuries.

Devon and Cornwall Police have launched a murder investigation and are actively searching for the male suspect, who is known to the victim. The victim’s identity has not yet been released.

A heavy police presence descended upon the scene, with armed officers and forensic teams conducting thorough investigations. Road closures and a police cordon remain in place.

Witnesses described a chaotic scene with numerous police vehicles and armed officers.

Detective Chief Inspector David Pebworth reassured the public that there is no immediate threat to the wider community. He stated that police presence in the area would be increased as the investigation continues.
