Zuchu Takes Legal Action Against Wasafi FM: Plans to Sue Diamond’s Station for Defamation
Tanzanian bongo flava artist Zuchu has announced plans to take legal action against Wasafi FM and her long-time collaborator, Diamond Platnumz.
This decision comes after a segment aired on Wasafi FM—owned by Diamond—where hosts mocked Zuchu, alleging that the “Naringa” singer was desperate and pressuring Diamond into marriage.

Zuchu described the segment as demeaning and claimed it was the culmination of repeated humiliations.
In an emotional post shared via her Instagram Stories on Thursday night, January 16, 2025, Zuchu expressed her frustration, revealing that Wasafi FM had repeatedly targeted her, but this time it had gone too far.
She vowed to sue the station and its CEO, Diamond, acknowledging their significant influence but affirming her determination to seek justice.
“I’ve reached a point where I’ve decided to write a legal letter. I cannot endure this ongoing oppression any longer. Even if I lose the case against such a powerful entity, I will leave it to GOD, the ultimate judge,” Zuchu wrote passionately.
Impact on Mental Health
Zuchu also disclosed that the persistent trolling and negative discussions about her on Wasafi FM had severely affected her mental health.
She criticized the radio hosts for intentionally attacking her character, adding that she had previously approached Diamond to address the issue, but her concerns were ignored, only worsening her situation.
Zuchu accused Diamond of contributing to efforts to tarnish her reputation, stating that no other Tanzanian media outlet had subjected her to such harassment as Wasafi FM.
“I’ve pleaded with you as a leader, but my requests always fall on deaf ears, and instead, more content is created to destroy my dignity, hurt me, and damage my mental health. I’m an artist and a young woman; no media outlet has harassed me the way your station does. I can’t do much, as you’re powerful, but I trust GOD above all,” she lamented.

In a video Zuchu shared on Instagram Stories, originally posted by Wasafi FM, presenter Juma is heard discussing her personal life. He claimed Zuchu had been single for a long time and suggested this was why she was allegedly pressuring Diamond to marry her.
The comments were made during a segment featuring Ricardo Momo, Diamond’s brother and a presenter at Wasafi FM.
