Irene Nekesa Addresses Rumors About Leaving Diana Marua
Irene Nekesa, a well-known former employee in the Bahati household, recently addressed social media rumors confirming that she has indeed left her job with the family. Although she didn’t specify the exact date of her departure, she opened up about the reason behind it, amid speculation that there might have been tension.
Addressing the rumors, Irene explained it was a mutual decision for her to move on, rather than due to any conflict. She shared these details in a conversation on her new YouTube channel during an interview with Dem wa FB and Mama County, where she reflected on her previous role.

Dem wa FB began the discussion by saying, “We’re here to ask you all the burning questions we all have.” Irene, who gained a substantial social media presence through Diana Marua’s accounts, confirmed her exit but clarified there was no bad blood.
“People keep asking about me online, wondering what happened. The truth is, in life, you need to grow. It’s like a child cared for by their parents. Diana and Bahati always encouraged me to work hard, and I love them dearly. We didn’t part on bad terms; it simply reached a point where they felt I was ready to stand on my own,” she explained.
Dem wa FB noted that Irene had been unfollowed on social media. Irene responded, “They didn’t just leave me hanging. I also wanted to grow on social media, so I unfollowed them as well. It’s not that we parted badly.”

Some rumors suggested that Irene was fired, which she denied. “No, it wasn’t like that. I haven’t even noticed if I was unfollowed. Maybe it happened accidentally,” she clarified.
When Mama County inquired if Irene had unfollowed Diana, Irene admitted, “Yes, I unfollowed too, though I didn’t really notice it happening.”
Regarding her relationship with Bahati, Irene added, “I was encouraged to step out on my own. Like a growing child who learns to communicate and be independent, they supported my growth.”
When asked about claims that Diana was difficult, Irene dismissed them. “In what way? Diana and I have worked together well, even raising her kids. I wouldn’t have stayed nearly seven years if she were bad. I love Diana,” she affirmed.
As for whether she would return, Irene stated, “I have no problem visiting. I know where the gate is. Right now, I’m busy, but I’m open to visiting when I have time.”
Irene further explained her reason for speaking out: “I wanted to clear the air, so there’s no misinformation. I wasn’t beaten or chased away. We parted on good terms, and I trust God will bless them.”
