Kenyan singer Nadia Mukami has announced a temporary break from music to prioritize her health after experiencing an asthma attack on stage.
Sharing the news on social media, she wrote, “Yesterday during #OktobaFest, I was full of energy and vibes on stage until my chest couldn’t take it anymore. I had an asthma attack and collapsed on my way backstage! I’ve been unwell for a while, and after this weekend, I’ll be taking a break until the 15th to focus on my health. A huge thank you to my dancers, DJ, and team for their quick response, and to the #OktobaFest team for their kindness.”

The Mayo Clinic notes that while asthma can’t be cured, its symptoms are manageable. Common asthma symptoms include:
