Bahati issues apology to baby mama Yvette Obura

Kenyan singer Bahati surprised fans by publicly apologizing to both his baby mama, Yvette Obura, and footballer Victor Wanyama.

The apology followed months of rumors linked to a viral photo from 2020 that featured Bahati’s wife, Diana Marua, and Victor Wanyama, sparking speculation about their relationship. In June 2024, Bahati re-shared the photo across his social media platforms, fueling public curiosity over whether he had consulted Wanyama beforehand. When questioned, Bahati downplayed the need for permission, explaining his friendship with both Wanyama and Mariga, Wanyama’s brother. “Wanyama and Mariga are my friends; I even campaigned for Mariga in Kibra,” Bahati stated, emphasizing that silence only fuels speculation.

Now, Bahati has extended a formal apology to Wanyama, stating, “I posted a photo of Victor Wanyama and Diana Marua in June 2024. I apologize for any harm caused and look forward to building brotherhood and future partnerships.”

Alongside his apology to Wanyama, Bahati also reached out to Yvette Obura. In June, he had shared a family photo of himself, Yvette, and their daughter Mueni, with a caption that some fans deemed insensitive. In his message, Bahati acknowledged any hurt caused and expressed his intention to improve their co-parenting dynamics, saying, “I apologize to my sister for any harm caused; I had no ill motives and aim to foster good co-parenting in the future.”
