Why Size 8 Decided to Give Away Her Car After Becoming Saved

Gospel minister Linet Munyali, known as Size 8 Reborn, is marking 12 years since she dedicated her life to Christ. Reflecting on her journey, she recalled the doubts many had when she first embraced salvation, as some didn’t believe her commitment would last.

“It’s been 12 years since I gave my life to Jesus… God saved me from the pit of darkness, despite being a chief sinner. His mercy rescued my spirit and soul,” she shared.

She acknowledged the skepticism she faced, with many assuming her salvation wouldn’t endure. “People said it wouldn’t last a week, thinking I was holding onto my own strength. But they underestimated the power of God, which is able to save and sustain us. I’m living proof that God’s grace and love are real. I am born again—NIMEOKOKA!”

Throughout her faith journey, the mother of two has openly discussed the sacrifices she made to transform her life. In 2012, she rebranded herself as Size 8 Reborn after leaving the secular music scene. Among her sacrifices was giving away her car, a possession she felt wasn’t obtained through the right means.

“When I left the secular world, I had to give up many things I didn’t get through the right channels. I was tested to see if I’d let them go for Christ. The book of Mark says whatever you leave behind for Christ, you’ll get 100% back. So, I took my car, the logbook, and the keys and gave them to someone before I could change my mind,” she explained.

She also shared how, despite holding onto some money, it was all spent on her mother’s medical treatment, leaving her with nothing. “I wish I had given it to a children’s home; maybe I wouldn’t have gone through the challenges I faced.”

Another major step in her salvation journey was giving up the income she earned as a secular artist, a decision that disappointed many, including her tour partner Bien at the time. “I was ready for the financial loss and the challenges that came with it,” she concluded.
