Mutoko explains why it’s time to confront the hard truth: Most men don’t like children

Media personality Caroline Mutoko has come to the defense of massage therapist Steve Lekshara, asserting that it’s a hard truth that most men don’t like children.

“I want to look you in the eye and say this… Most men don’t like kids,” Mutoko began bluntly. She acknowledged that while not all men hold this view, a significant number do.

Caroline reflected on a TikTok video where a young woman shared her belief that many children grow up knowing their fathers found them to be a burden, often leaving their care to their mothers. Mutoko agreed with these sentiments, adding, “It’s a fact! Not all men, but most men don’t.”

She continued by pointing out that many mothers understood that their husbands preferred not to be involved in childcare. “Growing up, your mother knew that your father’s idea of peace was not seeing you around. When he came home, you’d be sent to play outside or to your room. But we aren’t ready to have that conversation,” she remarked.

Addressing Steve Lekshara directly, Mutoko suggested that although his viewpoint wasn’t entirely wrong, he could have chosen his words more carefully.

“Many younger women, and those of a certain intellect, romanticize the idea of men being involved with children. Some women understood what Steve was saying, but it’s important to avoid using harsh words like ‘hate.’ Instead, say, ‘I don’t like kids’ or ‘I’m not ready for children.'”

Steve Lekshara has been at the center of public backlash after his viral interview with Oga Obinna, where he openly admitted his dislike for children. He said, “I do not love kids. If you bring a child here, I will leave. Why do you have a problem with me not liking them?” His remarks sparked widespread criticism from Kenyans.
