Former radio presenter accused of setting wife’s house on fire explains what truly transpired
Former Nairobi radio presenter Parvin Sigei is at the center of controversy after allegedly setting fire to his wife’s house.
The incident, which has sparked a social media uproar, came to light after Sigei posted a viral video recounting the events leading up to the fire.
In the video, Sigei expressed his frustrations and challenges within his marriage, citing ongoing disputes and feelings of betrayal.
He claimed that despite his constant support for his wife throughout their relationship, she failed to show any appreciation. “I’ve endured this for over a year. My brothers warned me not to marry her,” Sigei lamented.
Sigei revealed that he had been financially supportive of his wife, even helping her secure a position at the National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF).
However, he felt that his efforts were unappreciated. He mentioned that he never interfered with how his wife spent her money, giving her full autonomy over financial matters during their marriage.
In an emotional breakdown, Sigei disclosed that he had provided many things for his wife, including buying her a car and the house that he is accused of burning.
He further claimed that despite leaving large sums of money at home, such as Sh200,000, his wife would still ask for more, leaving him financially and emotionally drained. “I’ve suffered for so long,” he said, expressing his exhaustion.
Sigei explained that his frustration reached a boiling point, leading to his drastic actions of setting the house on fire. “People see the house burning, but they don’t know what happened behind the scenes,” he remarked, suggesting there was more to the story than the public realized.
