Kimani Ngunjiri: Men Should Steer Clear of Splitting Bills
In a recent conversation with Dr. Kingori, Bahati Constituency MP Kimani Ngunjiri voiced his opinion that sharing household expenses with one’s wife is not in line with biblical teachings.
In an undated video, Ngunjiri emphasized that men should take on the role of leaders in their homes. “I don’t support this idea where a husband and wife sit down to divide who pays for what,” he remarked, criticizing men who adopt such practices.

He continued, “It’s not right. If you read the Bible, a man is expected to provide. Let the wife keep her money—even her salary. If you want peace, don’t start discussing who will cover which expenses. Offer what you can, even if she earns more than you. Whether it’s for food or clothing, provide.”
Ngunjiri further explained that such arrangements don’t align with his views, warning, “If you consistently provide, there may come a day when she offers her money, asking, ‘What should we do with this?'”
