Comedy Greats to Host Major Tribute Show for Fred Omondi
The Kenyan comedy industry is uniting to pay tribute to the late Fred Omondi, who tragically passed away in a road accident on Saturday.

Daniel ‘Churchill’ Ndambuki, head of Laugh Industry, announced details of the tribute event, named ‘Fred Omondi Last Laugh.’
“This Friday at Carnivore!! From 6 pm. So many things happening, so soon. Sad. But this Friday… Let’s do it for Freddy, like never before. We shall all be there. See you then,” he wrote on Instagram.
The event will feature an impressive lineup of comedians, including Churchill, Jalas, Terence Creative, Mammitto, Nasra, Prof Hamo, MC Antonio, Noriega, Jemutai, Chipukeezy, Butita, Sammy Kioko, Tom Daktari, Sleepy Davvy, YY, Teacher Wanjiku, Kreative Generation, Consumeta, Rib Crackers, Malboro, DJ Shiti, Captain Otoyo, MCA Tricky, Jasper Murume, Oga Obinna, and Adhis Jojo.

Fred Omondi was the brother of comedian and activist Eric Omondi, as well as Irene and the late Joseph Omondi.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 21, at Citam Valley Road. Following the service, his body will be airlifted to Bondo, Siaya County, where he will be laid to rest on Saturday, June 22.
