“I stand here today filled with sorrow, knowing there’s much to say, but finding it difficult to articulate,” she started, her voice heavy with emotion.

Gloria then conveyed Rachel Ruto’s message, highlighting the continuation of Jahmby’s vision. “I bring a message from the First Lady, with whom we will collaborate to realize Jahmby’s dream of establishing an Endometriosis Center,” she announced, sharing the First Lady’s heartfelt condolences.

Gloria reminisced about her first encounter with Jahmby in Kibera, where their friendship blossomed. “She was not only kind to me but also a fellow activist, which brought us closer,” Gloria recalled.

Their shared commitment to supporting young women affected by endometriosis strengthened their bond further. “She was passionate about empowering these girls and raising awareness about endometriosis,” Gloria added.

Throughout the past year, Gloria and Jahmby collaborated on various initiatives. “I remember trying to persuade her to join our cause under a UDA ticket,” Gloria reminisced.

Despite Jahmby’s political engagements, her dedication to advocacy never wavered. “She was straightforward and honest, traits I deeply admired,” Gloria remarked, praising Jahmby’s integrity and compassion.

Reflecting on a poignant moment during Jahmby’s final days, Gloria recounted their last conversation. “When she was hospitalized, I called her after seeing the news online. She reassured me it wasn’t as dire as it seemed,” Gloria recalled. During her visit, Gloria shared a message from the First Lady, who, despite being on her way to another event, expressed concern for Jahmby’s well-being and offered support.

Tragically, before plans could be finalized to transfer Jahmby to Atlanta for advanced treatment, Gloria received the devastating news of Jahmby’s passing. “On Monday morning, Jahmby’s father called to deliver the heartbreaking news. It still feels unreal,” Gloria shared, her voice breaking with sorrow.

Despite the profound loss, Gloria stressed the importance of honoring Jahmby’s legacy. “Though we cannot bring her back, we can continue her work. Even in her absence, she has left an indelible mark,” Gloria affirmed.

Gloria expressed optimism about the initiatives led by the First Lady’s office to establish the Endometriosis Center, serving as a tribute to Jahmby’s enduring influence.
