Tanzanian music star Diamond Platnumz’s 2009 hit “Nenda Kamwambie” wasn’t just a catchy tune – it was a love letter to his then-girlfriend, Sarah. The couple, who shared a deep connection, eventually went their separate ways.

Years later, a chance encounter at one of Diamond’s concerts sparked a reunion. Sarah, there to support her former love, reignited memories of their past.

Diamond, overwhelmed with emotion, expressed his continued affection for Sarah and acknowledged her role in shaping him as a person. He even confessed his lingering feelings, despite Sarah having moved on and built a family.

Their love story unfolded between 2006 and 2009. Interestingly, Sarah revealed the original title of “Nenda Kamwambie” was actually “Nenda Kwamwambie Sarah” (Go tell Sarah), but Diamond opted for a more generic title.

She believes Diamond’s debut album was heavily influenced by their relationship, with many songs dedicated to her.

Despite their breakup, Sarah emphasized a maintained friendship with Diamond. Though hesitant to publicly discuss their past, she appreciates his attempts to reconnect and is proud of his musical success.
