Popular Kenyan DJ, Joe Mfalme (real name Joseph Mwenda), wasted no time in getting back to work after his release from detainment on April 8th, 2024. Just a day after a Kibera court judge ruled in his favor, Mfalme announced a string of upcoming gigs in Nairobi and Mombasa.

Mfalme’s busy schedule kicks off tonight at a popular Mombasa Road nightclub. He’ll then head to a venue in Nairobi’s Mirema neighborhood on Wednesday, before wrapping up the week with a performance at a club inside Nyali City Mall in Mombasa on Friday, April 12th.

The DJ’s release came amidst a murder investigation involving Detective Felix Kelian of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI). Mfalme, along with six others, had been held in custody for two weeks to allow for a thorough investigation.

However, in a surprising turn of events, the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) informed the court that Mfalme and the other six individuals, including three police officers, would now be assisting the prosecution as state witnesses.

Mfalme, who spent 14 days in custody, expressed relief at being cleared of murder charges following the court’s decision.
