The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) homicide detectives have assumed control of the inquiry into the sudden demise of acclaimed actor Charles Ouda on February 4. The investigation aims to ascertain whether the actor’s death was a result of foul play or suicide and to explore the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.

A team from the DCI headquarters visited the scene in Westlands, Nairobi, as part of their thorough investigation. While the cause of death remains undisclosed, sources indicate that suicide is being considered among the possible causes.

The circumstances leading up to Ouda’s death, including events on the day of the incident, have prompted the involvement of the homicide team. Insiders report that the team has initiated inquiries by interviewing individuals who were present at the scene.

An autopsy is scheduled to be conducted to determine the exact cause of the 38-year-old actor’s demise. Known for his roles in popular shows like “Makutano Junction” and “Salem,” Ouda appeared to be in good spirits on the last day he was seen alive, with no reports of any known ailments.

The actor was last seen at a party for the cast of Maisha Magic’s “Salem” TV series on the day of his death, leaving the entertainment industry and fans in shock.

A family statement, released on behalf of the Oudas and Ciru Muriuki – his fiancée, urged the public to respect their privacy “to grieve this unfathomable loss.” The statement described Charles Ouda as a beloved son, brother, and friend.
