‘I am your last man’ Muigai Wa Njoroge’s parting shot to estranged wife

Gladys Njeri, the first wife of the controversial artist Muigai Wa Njoroge, shocked fans by announcing her departure from their 12-year polygamous marriage. Njeri shares four children with Muigai wa Njoroge, and after nine years of marriage, Muigai’s decision to take on a second wife extended the total duration of the marriage to 21 years.

In a recent radio interview, Njeri revealed that the complexities of the polygamous relationship became overwhelming, leading her to seek peace by ending the union. She shared the emotional journey she experienced after her musician husband married a second wife, expressing dissatisfaction with how the second wife handled the delicate dynamics.

Njeri alleged that Muigai left her financially strained for another woman, leading her to resort to alcoholism during this challenging period. She highlighted her husband dedicating a song to the second wife titled ‘Gituure Wi Murata’ (Remain my friend forever) as a significant emotional blow.

After a tumultuous period, Njeri disclosed that she reconciled with Muigai, and they proceeded to conduct their traditional wedding. In a dedicated gesture, Muigai released a song titled ‘Waku wa Muico’ (Your last one), expressing his commitment to becoming her last lover, vowing to pray for a lasting connection.

However, the joyous reunion was abrupt, and the couple failed to address the underlying marital issues. Despite Queen Stacy, the second wife, relocating abroad during this time, Njeri invited her back to Kenya to help salvage the polygamous marriage. Despite their public display on social media, the blissful days were short-lived.

Despite sincere efforts, Njeri admitted that her marriage eventually crumbled, leading to her separation from the renowned singer. She mentioned, “We tried, I don’t want to blame anyone because we tried, but unfortunately, it never worked, and that is the saddest thing. It never worked, anger became the danger,” during the interview.
