Jalang’o Responds To His ODM Expulsion
Lang’ata MP Phelix Odiwuor, popularly known as Jalang’o, has responded to his expulsion from the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party.
Jalang’o was expelled from the party by the ODM disciplinary committee for associating with the Kenya Kwanza government. He was one of five MPs who were expelled for openly supporting the government despite being members of the opposition party.
In a statement on social media, Jalang’o said that he was “not shaken” by the expulsion and that he would continue to serve his constituents to the best of his ability.
He also said that he was “grateful for the opportunity to serve” in the ODM party and that he wished the party well in the future.
Jalang’o’s expulsion has been met with mixed reactions. Some people have supported the decision, while others have criticized it.
Those who support the decision argue that Jalang’o’s actions were a betrayal of the ODM party and that he should be punished for his insubordination.
Those who criticize the decision argue that Jalang’o’s expulsion is an attack on free speech and that it is a sign of the ODM party’s intolerance of dissent.
It remains to be seen how Jalang’o’s expulsion will affect his political career. However, one thing is for sure: he is not going to let it stop him from serving his constituents.
In his statement, Jalang’o quoted a Bible verse that says,
“No trial is too heavy to bear, and no temptation surpasses one’s overcoming ability.” He said that he is confident that he will be able to overcome this challenge and that he will continue to serve his constituents to the best of his ability.
Jalang’o is a popular figure in Kenya and he has a large following on social media. His expulsion from the ODM party is likely to be a major talking point in the run-up to the 2022 general election.
