The Council of Legal Education (CLE) has released a list of universities in Kenya that are licensed to offer legal education. The list includes 15 universities that are authorized to offer undergraduate law degrees, and 4 universities that are authorized to offer postgraduate law degrees.

The undergraduate law degrees offered by the licensed universities include the Bachelor of Laws (LLB), the Bachelor of Laws (Honours) (LLB Hons), and the Bachelor of Laws (Professional) (LLB Prof). The postgraduate law degrees offered by the licensed universities include the Master of Laws (LLM), the Master of Laws in Legal Practice (LLM LP), and the Master of Laws in Human Rights and Democratisation (LLM HRD).

The diploma in law programme is offered by four universities: Mount Kenya University, Kisii University, Kenya Institute of Management, and the Catholic University of Eastern Africa.

The CLE is a statutory body established under the Legal Education Act, 2012. The purpose of the CLE is to promote legal education and training in Kenya, and to ensure that legal education providers meet high standards.

The list of licensed universities is available on the CLE website.
