Flaqo Opens Up On Severe Health Condition That Almost Cost Him His Career

Talented comedian Erastus Ayieko Otieno, alias Flaqo has opened up about battling a severe health issue that caused him to cancel numerous gigs. The jester, who has been a sensation to most over the years, has kept most of his struggles under wraps. But he recently shared through his Instagram stories what could have costed him his career, if it was not for a close friend.

Via his Instastories,  he divugled that he was suffering from a condition known as hives/urticaria – a skin rash triggered by a reaction to food, medicine, or other irritants. You’d remember vividly that sometimes his face would be filled with huge pimples while he was creating comedy.

Flaqo’s Struggles

Flaqo added that he battled the condition for nearly nine years, adding that he barely slept every night as he experienced body discomfort.

He further divulged that the condition was so bad that it interrupted his shooting schedule, and thus he could not share content consistently.

“A post to thank God: I had bad allergies (hives/urticaria). Since 2014 bruh. I talked about it 7 months ago, I could not sleep every night due to discomfort… “I could not shoot consistently; my body was always swelling daily. I could not go out. I was always cancelling plans…”

The comedian however, got rid of the struggles after Sauti Sol’s Bien connected him to a therapist, who has been helping him since then.

Flaqo is famous for his ability to play numerous characters, with ‘Mama Otis’ being her most popular one. He has milked millions from his hilarious content.
