Kyraz braces for a major comeback after long musical hiatus
If you have been listening to Kenyan music for a while then I’m pretty sure you have heard of a musician by the name Kyraz. If you haven’t then you have really been missing out, but don’t worry, it’s never too late.
His real name is Mataro Chacha and he has released a couple of songs with the likes of Wyre, Abass, Chiwawa just to name a few.
He then took a break to focus on other interests but he is now making a grand comeback and he has even released a new jam which we will talk about in a few.
I recently had a chat with Kyraz and he told me that his love for music, and specifically rap, was influenced by his old man because that is what he listened to on many occasions.
In the early 2000s when he got into music, the likes of Mashifta, Wenyeji and Kalamashaka ruled the airwaves so it was only natural that he appreciates the sound.
I asked him if he’s bothered by the fact that it is extremely hard to make money from rap, because it is not as popular as other sounds but he says he strongly believes in staying true to ones self.
Kyraz revealed that he appreciates the kind of music that’s made by a number of Kenyan artists like Phy, Wakadinali, King Kaka, Xtatic and Bey T.
Now let’s talk about his music. He recently released a new jam titled Keep It Moving and it is doing well on the charts and if you have not heard it you definitely should, even if you don’t love rap.
I have listened to it a couple of times since it was released and I can tell you that this guy has some dope bars and an impeccable flow. You just want to keep listening to him.

He makes the kind of music that should become anthems because the lyrics are clean and to add that it sounds very pleasant to the ears.
The video for Keep It Moving is also dope. The concept is simple but believe you me, the execution is above par and th
