DJ Soxxy and wife narrate son´s painful battle in ICU soon after birth (Details)
Words can never be enough to explain the emotions that engulf a mother when their child is in pain, when their child is about to loose their life, when their child is fighting to live and you just cannot help them.
Mothers, they say, are exceptional beings, the only creation that was bestowed the ability to give life, to birth a new creature, to carry a child in their womb for a whooping 9 months and still live to nurse this little, beautiful creation.
Well, for some, this short journey becomes long, becomes gruelling the minute your child has to fight for their life. The minute your child has to depend on life support machines to get fully formed and able to lead a life on their own.
Kenyan gospel deejay Jackson Kamau better known as DJ Soxxy and wife Anne Waichigo have struggled with infertility issues as they tried to build a family.
Days they would look forward to holding a baby in their arms, only for the body to resist and deny them that golden chance.
At times they gave up, lost hope of ever having someone call them ´daddy´ or ´mommy´ but they eventually got blessed with two children: a daughter Eliana Wairimu and a son Ethan Kamau.
Son in ICU
What many don´t know is the story behind their son, Ethan Kamau. Their last born child who had to spend long days and nights in the ICU because his lungs were weary, soon after birth.
Sharing finer details, Mrs Soxxy admitted she almost gave up on the life of her son, just before he looked up and assured his mom that he was born to live and fight.
And just like that, the little boy bagged himself the name ´Ethan´.
Showering his little boy and celebrating his life on Instagram, Anne penned:
I have this little boy who stole my heart and he calls me mama.. We named him @ethan_kamau Ethan means Strong, firm in hebrew. When Ethan was born, his lungs did not pick up and we thought we would lose him, he stayed in the NICU for a few days. And just like his name, he was strong to fight for his little life.
Adding:
I can’t promise to fix all your problems but I can promise that you won’t have to face them alone.
Like they say, what a mom!
