Kilifi Deputy Governor’s family asks Kenyans for forgiveness

Didier Madzayo, a UK-based artist who is a nephew to Kilifi Deputy Governor Gideon Saburi, issued an apology to Kenyans on Thursday, April 23.

Taking to Instagram, the singer who is behind hits such as; Fatuma, Nasonga and Tunainama Tu revealed that his uncle had gotten so many hurtful comments and some people had even wished him dead.

Madzayo wondered why Kenyans had lost faith in humanity tot he extent that they could not forgive the Deputy Governor despite all the public apologies that he has made.

“My question to anyone irritated or moved by this post is, ‘What happened to People taking in apologies and moving on with life? ‘What really happened to I am sorry?’ or even say the words ‘I forgive you?” the post reads in part.

Madzayo, who was a former Tusker Project Fame (TPF) contestant, also took the opportunity to encourage his uncle and assured him that the family was firmly behind him and asked him not to reply to the trolls.

“As for Deputy Governor Kilifi County, your family is behind you and we are Counting down the days and minutes until all this is over. We know you have been through so much,” he continued.

He concluded by by sharing his experience of living in the in UK during the corona virus lock-down and termed it stressful, especially for people who were dealing with mental health issues.

Further, he asked Kenyans to follow the rules and regulations that have been put in place by the government to protect them against the deadly virus which has caused the death of 184,643 across the world.
