“We met when none of us was married…” Denno recounts his shared journey with Bahati as EMB closes shop
In what has been labelled ‘the end of an era’, EMB records has set free all its signees inclusive of Weezdom and Denno.
Bahati and Weezdom have so far reacted to the unforeseen shutdown and it is now time for gospel singer Denno to give his last words as well.
Through Bahati’s YouTube channel, the ‘Story Yangu’ singer gave an account of his journey in and out of the record label.
My journey in music hasn’t been so easy and I think that’s part of life.
Adding:
I am not someone who looks at my situation but where I am headed, the dreams and visions that I have. I don’t let anyone look down upon me because I am determined and I have been called to serve.
Recalling his music journey that started in 2012/2013 before going under in 2014/2015.
He refrained from sharing his journey, attesting that his story is not really new to anyone, having reiterated it time and again.
Friendship
It all started when:
I met Bahati in 2016 and he have been friends, still are but also now family. We met when none of us was married and have walked a long journey together ever since, through which, we shared a lot.
However, soon after releasing ‘Story Yangu’ after meeting Bahati, times got tough and the gospel singer went under once more.
Bahati then went out to look for Denno after he disappeared and he remains thankful to him.
He believed in me and I found myself working under EMB record label. They have not just been 8 months, they have been 8 great months. At EMB, I was well received, we did a lot of music, interacted with everyone and I looked up to more of such days.
Denno said he cannot compare today to before he joined EMB because the growth has been tremendous.
I have done 4 good songs.
EMB Shutdown
However, when Bahati revealed to him that he was going to shutdown EMB, it really disappointed him but he respects the singer’s decision.
EMB, Denno revealed, has been a blessing to him, not just in his music but for his family too.
Bahati has a couple of times revealed his intentions to support Denno’s wife’s business.
Within the short time I had, I have been blessed and EMB has created a strong impact and bond with my family. Even my wife has benefited even though it was not part of the contract. We are now family with the Bahati’s. I pray that God really blesses Bahati, his family and his endeavors.
As he trusted:
Even as I leave EMB, I know I have family, I have friends that I can count on and it is a gesture that my family and I will forever place in our hearts.
To his loyal fans:
I say thank you, thank you for the great support you have shown me even when I hit rock bottom. And I still pray for your support as I begin my new journey.
Those were Denno’s, real names, Dennis Kariuki last words as he bid goodbye to EMB record label.
