Just a few years ago, branded choppers were a reserve of presidential candidates but now even wannabe MPs who have never stepped in parliament before have branded choppers at their disposal.

Jubilee hopeful for Embakasi East constituency Francis Mureithi recently flew Bahati from Wilson Airport to Kayole in his branded chopper.

It costs between Kes 170,000 and 200,000 per hour to hire a chopper in Kenya. Branding the chopper also has its own charges.

These politicians will part with kes 4 million considering they hire the choppers for 24 hours – that’s a almost a four months’ salary for a seating MP in Kenya.
