¨I got served with a demand letter from his lawyers¨ Bahati clarifies on Peter Blessing´s arrest
EMB King, Bahati has cleared the air following the controversial arrest of upcoming gospel artist, Peter Blessing, that caused public uproar.
Many slammed the thriving gospel artist for humiliating 20-year old Peter Blessing because he did not have the capacity to defend himself.
Reports indicated that Blessing owed Bahati a whooping Ksh 2 Million, which he outrightly denied.
Trolls from fellow artistes, the likes of Khaligraph and Mr Seed, bashed Bahati for the cruel act.
Bahati has however sought to shed light on Blessing´s arrest.
Meanwhile, Blessing´s case awaits mentioning on Thursday next week at Milimani Law Courts for pre-trial direction and fixing of the hearing dates.
Defense
Bahati says he was forced to take the move after being served a demand letter from Blessing´s lawyers: Karanja Mbatiey and Associates Advocates.
I was unable to stop the management from pursuing the rule of law because there is a contract signed, agreed and commissioned. The reason we had to start the case was the only way I could prove that there is a breach of contract. The other boys (previous signees) breached the contract but I never reacted, they know.
A letter demanding that Ksh 1 million be paid to Peter Blessing within 14 days as royalties from his songs at EMB.
But Bahati insists that Blessing breached the contract by walking out of the label without proper termination. Even going ahead to announce to the public of his official exit from EMB.
Further on, Baba Majesty revealed that Blessing had only accumulated Ksh 507 since his sign up on Skiza Tunes.
Therefore, demanding Ksh 1 million for what he had not worked for, was outrageous.
Kwani huyu amedemand pesa hatujawahi make na music yake. On Skiza tunes alone, since August when his first song was uploaded Blessing had only made Ksh 507. But out there, nimejitajirisha na pesa yake.
