¨I am hoping am just hoping nitasemehewa¨ Francis Atwoli´s outcry regarding his polygamous marriage

Vocal COTU Secretary General, Francis Atwoli seems worried for marrying a third wife and is now seeking God´s pardon.

The African labor Leader has time and again defended his position to take KTN news journalist, Mary Kilobi as his third wife, though twice younger his age.

During a funds drive in Kakamega on Sunday, Atwoli clarified that he did not marry because of lust.

Rather basing on his tight work schedule, he needed someone to support him, at his old age. However, it is his hope that God will forgive him for marrying a second wife.

I also want someone that can travel with me. Since I’m getting old, I need medicine and someone who can tell me when I have due meetings. As you know, the mother of my children my rural home. If I decide that I want to start travelling around with her, I’ll find no home. Therefore, I must have someone who manages me and another to take care of my home.

The 69-year-old trade unionist, further showered Mary Kilobi with praises revealing that she is a church treasurer and therefore can easily abandon her faith.

But these are his words of caution to the youth of today:

If you must marry another woman, go down on your knees and talk to God. Ask him to forgive you if your desire to get another wife will cause confusion in your family.

Adding that once women bear children, they shift their attention to the children and grandchildren and forget about their better halves.

These women are so good. However, when they get children and grandchildren, they begin to see them as you and forget about you. You are left on your own. When you get old, you need someone who can give you medicine.

This is after articulating that he is a respected man and one who abides by God´s word.

Mimi niko na bibi mdogo. Nko na mama yenu mdogo. Anataka marashi anataka mafuta. Sasa nikilala nyumbani nani atanipatia hiyo? Na watoto wangu wanasema wewe uliletea mama mtu sasa tena unataka tukupatie pesa. So I have got to work hard for you people to keep me to keep my employment so that I can take care of myself. [I have a young mother. He wants perfume and oil. So if I sleep where will I get the money? My children are telling me I brought a young woman and now I want them to give me money. So I have got to work hard for you people to keep me to keep my employment so that I can take care of myself. ]

The COTU Boss pins his plea in reference to the Bible and just like Barnabas, he asks God to have pardon on him.

I am hoping am just hoping nitasemehewa, unasiskia hiyo maneno, sasa vijana, msikimbilie hiyo maneno. Mfaute ile maneno nafanya. [I am hoping, am just hope God will forgive me. Have you heard these words? Young men do not rush to marry. Follow my footsteps.]
