Irony And Shock As Nishow Power Mega Concert CANCELED Over Vandalism,Theft And Hooliganism.
The Nishow Power concert that was slated to go down today at the University of Nairobi grounds (Chancellor’s Court) has been CANCELLED.
The event,which had garnered massive social media buzz in the days leading to it’s D-day,with mentions from big corporate and Media figures including Caroline Mutoko,was meant as a Youths drive meant to sensitize the youth to be responsible voters and also to conduct themselves with decorum and sanity over the upcoming election period.
The event organizers,who included the beleaguered IEBC and the US Embassy,had also planned to use the concert as an opportunity to register voters en masse as well as conducting civic education to the attendees.
But that now won’t happen because last night,unidentified goons,suspected to be from the University of Nairobi itself,raided the venue,stole electronic equipment,vandalized property,burnt down tents and caused massive damage to property in a bid to scuttle the event.
Therefore,the event organizers woke up to a shocking scene of vandalism and buffoonery and immediately released a statement to the press and social media announcing the event’s unexpected cancellation.

Sauti Sol,Octopizzo and Juliani were among some of the Kenyan artists expected to entertain concert-goers. Dela,Sarabi and Kaligraph Jones were slated to perform too.
Activists and political agitators,including Boniface Mwangi,we’re also expected to attend the event. So was the US Embassy staff and High Commissioner,Bob Godec.
No word yet on when and where the event has been moved to.
